Personal information

"Personal information" is information that you provide to us and which personally identifies you, such as your name, email address or billing information, or other data which can be reasonably linked to such information by us.

BlueMelon Account

You may access some of our services by signing up for a BlueMelon Account and providing us with some personal information (your name, email address and a password). This account information will be used to authenticate you when you access our services and protect your account from unauthorized access by others. No account information is shared with anyone other than BlueMelon.

You can edit or terminate your account at any time through “your Account” settings.

Cookie

A "cookie" is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. When you visit the website again, the cookie allows that site to recognize your browser. Cookies may store user preferences (or for example what you were searching for) and other information. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some website features or services may not function properly without cookies.

IP address

Every computer connected to the Internet is assigned a unique number known as an Internet protocol (IP) address. Since these numbers are usually assigned in country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country from which a computer is connecting to the Internet.

Server logs

Like most Web sites, our servers automatically record the page requests made when users visit our sites. These "server logs" typically include your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

Sensitive information

"Sensitive personal information" includes information we know to be related to gender and tied to personal information.

Aggregated non-personal information

"Aggregate non-personal information" is information that is recorded about users and collected into groups so that it no longer reflects or references an individually identifiable user. An example includes information about how many users that uploads their Photos through Java uploader use Firefox version 2.0.

Web beacons

Web beacons, also known as Web bugs, are small, graphic images on a Web page or other Web-based content that allow the site owner or a third party to monitor the IP address and other information of the site or computer viewing the Web page or content. Web beacons are often invisible to the user because they are typically very small (only 1-by-1 pixel) and the same color as the background of the Web page or other Web content. Web beacons collect the IP address of the computer to which the Web beacon is sent, the URL of the page from which the Web beacon comes, and the time it was viewed. Web beacons can be linked to personal information.
